Is It Normal To Pee When Sneezing?

At least 30% of women who have been pregnant experience some urine loss when sneezing. Incontinence can also occur when coughing, or laughing, or running, or jumping. Unfortunately our society tells us this is normal. It is common, but peeing when sneezing shouldn’t happen.

Peeing When Sneezing Isn’t Just For Older People

Many people of all ages can experience “Peezing”. We typically associate these symptoms in people who are older. This however is not true, people of all ages can experience urinary leakage. The thing is though, incontinence won’t just go away on its own. If anything your symptoms will likely get worse as you get older. This leads to a whole host of other behaviours occurring. Behaviours such as peeing just in case, or limiting how much fluids you ingest, or reduce your friends and family time to outings that have a bathroom close by, all out of fear of making a mess in your clothing.
